Abandoned Vehicles |
||
|
Good Afternoon,
During our patrols today we came across an abandoned vehicle which was not displaying a correct Vehicle Registration Mark and, following our checks, was found to be untaxed, SORN and had not had a valid MOT in over a year. Due to this it should certainly not have been parked on Loughborough Road. We have arranged for this vehicle to be recovered by Lambeth Council due to the state it had been left in.
I know first hand how frustrating an abandoned vehicle can be when left on your street. At best it is an inconvenience taking up space where residents and visitors could be parking, and at worse they can be horrible eyesores making our streets look untidy, a dangerous obstruction to the highway, used by criminals to hide things they don't want to keep in their homes or possibly even stolen.
Because of this we feel it could be useful to share with you information on what you can do and who you can contact if you have an abandoned vehicle on your street or in your carpark.
The fastest way to get the vehicle removed will be to report the vehicle directly to Lambeth Council yourself. The quickest way to get to the right part of their site is to google “Lambeth Council abandoned vehicles” and you will find a link straight to the correct part of their website.
Or, if you feel that there is something not quite right about the vehicle, you can contact us directly through Met Engage and we will happily come and take a look at it for you and take appropriate action, even if that just ends up with us contacting the council on your behalf. We will always be more than happy to come and run some checks and take a look around.
Kind Regards,
